Structural Features
Connection Method: Socket weld flanges refer to flanges where the pipe end is inserted into the stepped inner ring of the flange and welded at the pipe end and outer side. There are two types: with neck and without neck. Necked flanges have good rigidity, small welding deformation, and better sealing.
Components: Usually composed of a flange, socket hole, and weld bevel. The dimensions of the socket hole match the outer diameter of the pipe, allowing the pipe to be tightly inserted.
Specifications
Size Range: Generally 1/2″-3″ (DN15-DN80).
Pressure Rating: Common ratings include 150LB, 300LB, 600LB, 900LB, 1500LB, and DIN PN2.5, PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40, PN63, PN100.
Gasket Face Type: Includes FF (flat face), RF (raised face), MF (male and female), TG (tongue and groove), RJ (ring joint), OSG (O-ring face), etc.
Manufacturing Related
Manufacturing Process: Generally includes material input, re-inspection, sawing, heating, forging, heat treatment, rough machining, fine machining, inspection, marking, packing, and shipping.
Manufacturing Standards: Such as ANSI B16.5, ANSI B16.47 Series A & B, MSS SP44, ASA, API-605, AWWA, Custom Drawings, DIN2527, DIN2566, DIN2573, DIN2576, DIN2641, DIN2642, DIN2655, DIN2656, DIN2627, DIN2628, DIN2629, DIN 2631, DIN2632, DIN2633, DIN2634, DIN2635, DIN2636, DIN2637, DIN2638, DIN2673, BS4504, BS1560, BS10, HG/T20592-2015, HG/T20615-2015, GB/T9124.1-2019, GB/T9124.2-2019, etc.
Processing Methods: Using high-precision CNC lathe turning, ordinary lathe finishing, TIG welding, etc.
Material Selection
Carbon Steel: Such as ASTM A105, 20#, Q235, 16Mn, etc. Cost-effective, suitable for general industrial applications, meeting ordinary pressure and environmental requirements.
Stainless Steel: For example, ASTM A182 F304, 304L, F316, 316L, etc. Good rust prevention and chemical corrosion resistance, widely used in chemical, food processing, and marine industries with high corrosion resistance requirements.
Alloy Steel: Such as ASTM A182 F1, F5a, F9, F11, F12, F22, F91, etc. Used in high-temperature and high-stress applications, such as power generation and petrochemical plants.
Performance Advantages
Reliable Connection: Welding the pipe and flange into an integral structure, high strength and sealing, capable of withstanding high pressure and tension. It is not prone to loosening or leakage during operation, ensuring safe and stable system operation.
Easy and Quick Installation: Installation only requires inserting the pipe into the socket of the flange for welding, eliminating complex bolt or threaded connections, saving installation time and labor costs, and reducing maintenance workload.
Small Footprint: Compact structure, relatively small size, effectively saving space in small-diameter piping systems, making the pipeline layout more reasonable and aesthetically pleasing, and facilitating transportation and storage.
Wide Applicability: Suitable for various pipe connections, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel, and can also be used in piping systems under different pressure levels and temperature conditions.
